Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Basic Android Programming Making a Button Do Something

When I type in showFactButton in (R.id.___), it says it doesn't recognize; it recognizes Button do, what should I do?

Having same problem,

Button ShowFactButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.showFactButton); won't read How do you give that id to the element?

figured it out. I was following everything he was doing in the video. typing in every word he was. While not realizing I made all my i.d's in the layout a different name.

Make sure you have given that id to the element you are referring to in the XML of it.
