where am i going wrong ?

it is saying am not writing the conditional statement how do you do that ?

Challenges can be pretty picky about the text of messages. They need to be exactly what's asked for including spacing and capitalization. You have leading and trailing spaces in your alert messages. If you remove those and correct the first message to read "is greater" instead of "is not greater" it should pass.

You're also missing a semicolon.
