Where am I going wrong?

I just can't seem to find whats wrong with my code

Example.java
class Example {

  public static void main(String[] args) {
    GoKart kart = new GoKart("purple");
    if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
      System.out.println("The battery is empty");
    }
    kart.drive(42);
  }
   try {
  kart.drive(42);
  }
  catch (IllegalArgumentException iae) {
  System.out.println(iae.getMessage());
}

}
GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private int barCount;
  private String color;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive() {
    drive(1);
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    if (laps > barCount) {
      throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not enough battery remains");
    }
    lapsDriven += laps;
    barCount -= laps;
  }

}

The issue appears to be with lines 8 and 9 in Example.java.

    kart.drive(42);
  }

Line 8's kart.drive() is out of a try...catch block, so it's not being handled.

You are closing out the main() function before the try...catch block, preventing it from running.

Remove lines 8 and 9, and then add an additional closing curly-brace to the end of the file.

please not ethe two comments added for further clarity.

class Example {

  public static void main(String[] args) {
    GoKart kart = new GoKart("purple");
    if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
      System.out.println("The battery is empty");
    }
// REMOVE    kart.drive(42);
// REMOVE  }
    try { // try...catch block is now inside of the main() method, and will run.
      kart.drive(42);
    } catch (IllegalArgumentException iae) {
      System.out.println(iae.getMessage());
    }
  }
} // added curly-brace
