Try codecademy.com, the whole site is built around writing code.

Also, you can participate in the weekly contests, best place to test your skills.

This is not necessarily exercises but it the website does have tutorials you can follow along with. http://www.w3schools.com/ It is called w3schools, it is the link I posted above. It is a good reference for a lot of web development languages including HTML and CSS.
