Where do I make my directory

I believe I know how to make a directory but I don't know where to put my directory. I'm using a PC. The instructional video just assumes beginners are familiar with a command prompt and that is insane since most people avoid command prompts at all costs.

What project are you working on, and what is the actual question you're being asked?

This is the very first project. I have just installed ruby on rails and in the video he is using a mac and he says he has already made a directory and he starts typing stuff into the command prompt but he never explained how to make a directory, where to put the directory or even how to do things on a command prompt.

I have very little experience with Ruby. But if you can tell me what the name of the course you are working on, I might be able to give you some insight on where to store your directory?

Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application :Generate a Rails Application

That's as far as I got, too! I ran into the same issue as you. Hopefully, someone else will jump in, and provide an idea on how you can accomplish your goal. On the other hand, you should check out all of the Discussion Topics (Forum) on the ruby section, and see if you can find help there as well. Sorry, I wasn't able to help you out.

No prob it's not your job to teach me. On the other hand I'm paying 45 bucks a month and this site should have a 24 hour live chat feature to answer these types of questions.

Joey LoForti - I don't work for Treehouse however my suggestion for someone in your position would be to follow the Become a Web Developer track. It includes a Console Foundations course before the Ruby courses to help get people acquainted with the command line.

Joey LoForti - I saw this thread yesterday, it might help you out https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/ruby-installation-help-needed
