Where do I start?

Hi guys, I am new to the forum and to programming (I know HTML and that´s it).

I have seen many people talking about using fireworks / dreamweaver / Photoshop and other programs for webdesign but at the same time I see people saying that a "real" programmer should learn different languages.

My goal is to become a web developer / webdesigner .

Where do I start? I am basically starting now...so I would like to know what programming languages should I learn first and which path should I follow in order to get to my goal.
