Where should the apikey, lat, long variables be declared?

Why were the variables declared inside the onCreate function and not directly in the MainActivity class?

1 Answer

Hello,

If I'm remembering this correctly, they're placed there because that is the only place that they are used and so we're limiting the scope of the variables, which should help with memory usage since once the method is done, the variables in the function's scope can be garbage collected.
