Where to start to build a website

In order to start building specific websites as professional and being less creative person, should I start from scratch as i have no idea how the website will look like or should I look for a template. Any tips or advice welcome.

This is how i do it:

  1. First make a search and take a look at different websites out there, just to have an idea of style and colors, do not to copy them.

  2. Design the website in photoshop, illustrator or fireworks...

  3. CODE..!!

Never start a website if you don't have any idea of what's gonna look like.
