Whether app question before I start

I wanted to know if this weather app will teach us on how to create a user log in as well as take a picture and up load the image to the backend. I know they teach us how to do this on parse.com but that's not what I am looking for. I am looking to do that on an existing backend.

I could be totally off by this so i apologize in advanced if i am. I think you want look at the persistence videos it goes over different ways of storing data. And using SQLite for Structured Data is one of the video tracks and i think this is what you are looking for.
