Which courses to take to learn how to create drop-down ad and fading notification box?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend which courses I should take in order to learn how to create these two effects:

1. A drop-down ad: When the visitor clicks on a full-width bar that has a downward arrow in the middle of it on the top of a web page, an ad drops down. If you click the arrow again, the ad goes back up.

2. A notification box that fades in and out loading different messages.

Your best bet would likely be Interactive Web Pages with JavaScript and/or jQuery Basics.
