Which one of them (Node.js - python) will help me to achieve my next step for back-end development and data scientist

I am a front-end developer and my next step is to develop for back-end , but my long term goal is to be a data scientist , so I am confused to choose between Node.js and Python. The question is which one of them will help me to achieve to my next step (Back-end) and my long term goal (Data scientist) and deserve to dedicate all my efforts to it , I want one of them to start learn it and never look back again.

Python is used often for data science. I think Python is the way to go :)
