Hi everyone,
I am currently doing the front-end development track and am progressing very well. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure which route to take when I complete the track. I enjoy coding but I am not really into design. As a front-end developer, do you think I will need both design and coding skills?

12,973 PointsI don't think as a developer you need design skills. it would be handy if you like designing but as you said you're not really into it... in such case I wouldn't bother. there's always css frameworks for front-end devs who want to prototype their web apps before letting someone else take care of your design for you.
Are you interested in back-end at all? Maybe Ruby or PHP tracks could be helpful to you next...
Do you like Wordpress? I think clients you might do front end jobs for might be interested in having their static pages migrated to a CMS of some kind and if you like Wordpress then this could be a perfect next track and an awesome skill set to have as front-end developer.
you should continue to learn more javascript though and make sure you also do build an interactive Website project!
I'm finishing front-end dev track myself and i've completed web design before it. i really hope for more javascript content here on treehouse as i don't really feel too confident in the realm of javascript quite yet.

37,463 PointsI was thinking of the same thing but then I got confused and didn't know which track to do next. My plan was to try iOS or Android development; however, I will either do back-end programming or Wordpress and see where that takes me.
