Who are designers to follow and what are the blogs to read of today as a starting point?

As someone who is just starting out what kind of leading blogs are good resources and what great designers are publishing useful content?

I’ve been watching YouTube!

Steven Heller is one of the leading writers in academia in the field of graphic design. He's a prolific writer who has written a large amount of books and articles on the subject of graphic design, and he is considered to be on the leading edge of the field. My professors back when I was in art school recommended him repeatedly for anyone looking for the more academic side of graphic design.

Eye On Design is AIGA's blog that is a cross between the academic and visual side of graphic design.

Mr Cup is a graphic design blog full of stunning visuals for those that prefer visuals over words.

Keep in mind all three of these are specifically graphic design focused. There are other areas of design as well, and about a million ways to present a subject. I hope this helps.

Maybe if you look at the best designers in google maybe like Sarah Parmenter but im not into the design world.

Maybe look for 'specialized' people in the area you want, i dont really know, color theory? simple design? or something. Find out people that are maybe like the new technology of the design or google it who to follow there etc..

Hope it can help.

I think the BEST designers to follow would be the people who are responsible for attracting your attention. Presently, I am hoping for employment which allows my performance art. I am attracted to services - like, "FaceBook" & "GoFundMe" & "Twitter" because I have needs my circumstances won't benefit from - if I spend too much time on an education I may not have time - and/or money for. I wish there was support for those who are the "A.A.R.P." age - yet, healthy/youthful, as I.
