I think you are asking what is wrong with your code? Here is a code that works...
$firstName = 'Rasmus';
$lastName = 'Lerdorf';
$fullName = $firstName . ' ' . $lastName;
echo "$fullName was the original creator of PHP \n";

I changed the quiz a little to hopefully be more clear. This code challenge is to make sure that you understand string variables, escape characters and concatenation.
$fullName should continue to equal "Rasmus Lerdorf"
$fullName = $firstName .' '. $lastName;
For the final step you should use the $fullName variable to display the string "Rasmus Lerdorf was the original creator of PHP." with a new line character at the end.
