why all page take the same color header { background:#aaa; border-color:#000; }

i write this line to give the header special color why the entire page takes the same color ??

Please provide the full css code for us to debug, what you have provided isn't enough determine a reason.

thank you i found out what wrong it is the closing tag of the the header wasn't write

Without seeing the full code (both HTML and CSS), I would guess that the header has expanded to cover the entire visible area of the page.
