Why are timezones so stupid in Python? Why do I hate them so much?

PEP 20 should make explicit reference to the stupidity of timezones. How can we make this happen?

I hate to say but it won't happen, PEP 20 is, was and will be. It will not change ever as far as I'm aware and will be one of the core Python elements of all time; however, the way timezones work in Python may change, maybe focus on advocating that instead of hating on PEP 20?
