Why CakePHP Framework not as popular compare to other frameworks?

I just wonder, why CakePHP isn't as publicize compare to other frameworks such as laravel, Code Igniter,..etc..

is it because of functionality? slow ? the usage of it? not as easy to learn?

Hi!

I don't have an official answer, but I think 1) because it's one of the older frameworks, 2) other frameworks are more lightweight, 3) it's not as flexible as other plugins, 4) some of the new frameworks have more features.
