Why did we not indent <ol> after <h3>?

I thought the list would be enclosed inside the header, so shouldn't we be indenting the ordered list after the header? Instead its on the same column but it still works.

Indentation in HTML isn't functional, but it helps make the code readable and easier to maintain.

But in the video, the "ul" is enclosed in the "nav", which is itself inside the "header"; and all of them are indented appropriately to make their nesting level obvious. Why might you think they are not?
