Why did we pay for registration when webhosts offer 1 .com domain registration free?

In the previous video, you had us register a domain using namecheap. Now that we're onto web hosting, lots of these services offer domain registration for free as part of their package. It seems like I could have saved myself 11 bucks by skipping the last step. What's the advantage to doing it your way?

You do not have to buy a domain. They are showing you so you know how the process works. The offers may change from time to time and may not have been offered at the time of the video, not sure.

I've been working doing internet marketing for several years and after purchasing so many domains at so many different places, I've found NameCheap is simply the best domain provider out there (even if it's not the cheapest option).

Domains that offer you a free domain for the first year are normally a lot more expensive on the long run and trust me on this one, you don't want to have your domain registered at the same hosting company because if you run into a major problem with them (hope not!) you're literally screwed.

Lot better to just register domains at NameCheap and find a rock solid hosting service such as SiteGround (which is very cool for developers btw).
