Why do I only see limited segues (push, modal, custom) when I try to create a segue from a button in VC1 to VC2?

Why do I only see limited segues (push, modal, custom) when I try to create a segue from a button in my first View Controller to the second View Controller?

Because Apple provides you with a push and modal transition out-of-the-box. The custom segue is for those who want to program their own transitions. I hope that's the answer you're looking for.

Unfortunately not.

iOS 8 came with new segues that deprecated the Push and Modal segues, but those are the only ones I'm seeing. Segues like Show, Show Detail, and Present Modally are not available.

Here's the dev link for reference.

I see what you're saying now as I am having the same issue. You're saying that you aren't able to see the new segue options when you place connections between objects in your storyboard? I'm still seeing the old segue options as well.
