Hi there, In the Player.js file, you are passing the handleScoreChange function down to the Counter component, so that the Counter component can communicate the changes in a player's score (based on the onClick event buttons) back up to the Player component and thence the main App component. This will allow the App component to utilize the scores for display purposes, etc.

hope that helps! Steve
