Why do you need to create a server here when that isn't required in Node.js Basics course?

Could you explain the difference between Build a Simple Dynamic Site with Node.js and Node.js basic courses while both try to do the almost same tasks. Is that simply because you need a server to run index.html?

I think the node basics course can't run in a browser, but this course can.
