why does it give me a parse error when I try to create a variable equal to an object ?

typed var request = XMLHttpRequest {

}; and it gave me a parse error

Looks like it's just a simple syntax problem. Try adding the new keyword and ending with a semicolon.

var request = new XMLHttpRequest;
