Why does it say that my answer is wrong?

It says: ''There was an error with your code: TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating 'document.getElementbyId('linkName')')''.

OMG, Tristan is right:

const inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName');

BTW, I believe const might be a better variable declaration because the inputValue won't be changing. It's gonna be constant.

You've selected the Id, but you need the value. You're so close:

let inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value;
