Why does my image caption show up next to the image instead of below it.

Hey! Sorry maybe a silly mistake I am not catching, but when I add a caption to my image, in the preview page the caption is displayed next to my image instead of below it. Below is the code in between the figure tags. Thanks in advance for the help!

      <figure>
       <img src="img/vr-space.jpg" alt="User experiencing space in VR">
       <figcap>
         VR User can explore far away places
        </figcap>
      </figure>
