Any fix to this issue? It's incredibly frustrating to pause to work on something along with the instructor and then have the video restart from the beginning when you unpause.
To make matters even worse, the tracks don't properly give credit unless you watch the whole damn video from start to finish.

14,985 PointsYou could always increase the speed of the video to 2x to get through the videos faster.
The videos will restart if you pause for too long or have a disconnection, I assume that they designed it that way so that they don't waste bandwidth. They have a pretty fast loading time and the videos are short enough where you can easily find where you left off.

15,719 PointsI really wouldn't recommend increasing the speed to 2x in any video unless you've already seen the video or are trying to get to a certain point in the video.
The reason they have a fast loading time is that they are .webm files, and .webm files provide HD quality and sound at a vastly reduced amount of data because of the codecs used to encode the data.
Faye Bridge, can you shed some insight on to why the videos restart randomly during a video? I assume that the videos are buffered to your computer, so that bandwidth isn't wasted. And if that's the case, there should be no need for a pause disconnect of any sort.

2,354 Pointshaunguyen, I'm aware of the video speed button. I'm pushing through some rudimentary lessons in my track at the moment, so I watch at 1.5x normally and 2x if the video restarts.
It doesn't take a very long pause to cause the problem, so I really doubt it's intentional.

14,985 PointsClint, My videos only restart when I pause them for a long time (>10 mins), if I unpause the videos for a short time, they restart just fine.
Why do you watch the videos from the beginning when they restarted? You can use your mouse to skip to the section of the video where you want to resume. It works fine (great actually), the videos are quick to load.
Another reason (I think) why they don't give you credits for not completing the videos is because some people use the completed tracks as proof of expertise for their job searches, so that could be why they require actual viewings.

15,719 PointsWell my videos have randomly restarted multiple times while watching them. And that has been in the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.

2,354 PointsI watch the videos from the beginning to make sure they're marked complete so I can move on in the track.
At the end of the day, I'm having to game the system a bit more than I'd like. I'm here to learn.

15,719 PointsI've reported this bug to the Treehouse staff, but it might be good for you to go ahead and send an email as well to the help desk at help@teamtreehouse.com.
The tracks will give you credit for the video at around the halfway - 3/4 mark.
