Hello, It is because we created these methods for the Playlist function and placed them into the playlist.js file. When we call them onto our new instance of playlist inside of app.js we are just calling the methods that we created in another file. Since we created these methods ourselves they wouldn't exist on MDN. I hope that helps, this build was a lot to take in for me too.
