why in the video did you proceed with the red highlit text? in the or media query

Hey so i noticed that at the end of the video, your or statement (orientation: portrait) was highlighted in red. why was that? why did you proceed anyway?

While red highlighting by the editor normally indicates a syntax error, in this case "orientation" is a relatively new CSS keyword and the editor has apparently not been updated to recognize it yet. But it's definitely valid for your browser, as you can see for yourself when you try out the code. So the instructor just disregarded the highlighting.

You might want to make a suggestion to the staff regarding an update for the editor. Instructions for submitting suggestions can be found on the Support page.
