Why is my button also disappearing on my page?

When I click the Hide List button my button also disappears and I'm not sure why. Am I missing something somewhere? As a result of this I am unable to re-show my list because my button disappears!

Your button is inside the div that you are hiding. Move it outside the div. This:

  <button id="toggleList">Hide list</button>
    <div class="list">

instead of this:

 <div class="list">
    <button id="toggleList">Hide List</button>
