General Discussion

Why is the forum still a mess?

In December 2013, I got an email from Ryan Carson promising a well organized forum. Ryan described one improvement as: "The ability to view content-specific Forum questions (and ask your own) while watching a lesson". Where is it?

It would be good if questions were associated with individual videos (lessons), and visible on the page with the lesson.

I'd also like to be able to go to the forum and sort the questions. Now, all JavaScript questions are together, and sorted only by date. We need to be able to sort by course, and also by lesson.

Well you can sort the forum based on your topic for example if you clicked on the forum and then clicked on php it will only give you discussions related to php and sorts it by the latest post.

That's the problem: all php questions are listed together, and always chronologically.

I want to be able to find discussions related to a particular lesson.

must admit that would be a nice feature.

Hi guys! We heard your request and built your dream! It was recently finished and we're just testing it before it goes live in early Sept. Now, while you're watching a video, you'll see related discussion questions under each video:

We're just here to make you happy and help you get your learn on :+1:

Hey Peter, in addition to what Joy mentioned, we've just shipped a change to content tagging to forum posts. We've had tagging for videos, quizzes, and code challenges for a while now, but now you'll also see the stage and course listed as well. You can use these tags to find forum posts related to certain pieces of content. Here's a preview of what those tags should look like:

Sean, that sounds useful. Does it add the tag of a lesson or course by default if you ask from the button on the lesson page?

Yes, it will always add the content tags by default if you ask from the button on the lesson page. There's actually no other way to add the content tags.
