10,763 Pointswhy isn't learning mobile first?
I read from many articles and designers that web design and technology is mobile first. but treehouse and all the other 'learn to code' sites still teach you a static desktop page to begin with. So then I feel, these sites started me off learning how to make a 90s desktop page and I have to do all this backtracking on how to make my page small and mobile.
so......why?

I have found they tend to stick with a mobile-first approach; in fact, the very idea is something I learned from Treehouse courses. Mobile first or not, it all starts with static HTML and we use CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc. to build onto that.
