Why my code is not working?

please help

Hi Hanwen!

These two lines are correct and pass (the first two tasks, obviously):

var myList = document.querySelector('ul');
var firstListItem = document.querySelector('#first');

You are correctly targeting the two elements as directed.

This is not correct though:

firstListItem.removeChild('li');

The hint is that you are using removeChild, which implies a parent-child relationship.

So this makes more sense (and passes the 3rd task):

myList.removeChild( firstListItem );

Because myList is the list itself and the child you want to remove from that list is the element assigned to the variable firstListItem.

Does that make sense?
