Why pay when you can get it for free?

I just dropped cash on a years subscription over going to something like Bloc or Lynda.com, and noticed we can petition our library's to get it for free as Louisville Public Library is doing..

Why pay for it, if we can get it for free? Am I getting anything extra for my membership? If I provide my library card and can I get reimbursed?

I am all for more tech folks, but I need my money too.. :)

Maybe next time I'll get this for free and purchase an alternative option as well.. /shrug

Does your local library offer Treehouse? Most libraries don't -- only ones that have purchased plans with Treehouse. If you'd like to get Treehouse in your local library, you should talk to them about it.

Pro membership gives you access to workshops and conferences that aren't available to library patrons.

If you can get it for free I'd say go for it and use the money on something else too. Probably best to email support to ask whether you can do that and get a refund. If I had the option I'd do it.

Well according to the website if your paying for it you get more access to exclusive videos and workshops. You also will also receive access to exclusive forums that a free user can't. There is also 2 levels of membership which it affects. If you want the pro membership and are only able to be reimbursed for basic then you might take that into account. The best thing I can suggest is to find out what they will reimburse you for and decide if those features are good enough for your needs. I hope I have helped you good luck!
