Why the const addPlayer, removePlayer, updatePlayerScore are defined inside the render method instead of outside?

I am relatively new to Javascript, I would like to know if the fact that the const addPlayer, removePlayer, updatePlayerScore where the bindActionCreators are assigned are into the render method for other reason that it's the only part of the class where they are needed, or it has to do with some binding "this" or the like
