Why time out is not firing function repeatedly?

heres my code

var d = new Date(); setTimeout(function(){$("h1").text(d);},6);

setTimeout only executes once; to repeat, use setInterval.

If you want to update the date with setInterval, you'll need to call d = new Date(); within the function called by setInterval.
