Why tree house still use java while Google has launched Kotlin as the primary language programming for Andriod?

You still learn Java to start with but Treehouse does have some Kotlin content for Android and more upcoming as Android Studio has adopted the language officially for Android. So start with Java for the time being. What I'm envisioning is that n the future students will be able to choose what path to go by once more Kotlin content is released.

Watch out for the Kotlin version of the "Simple App" course due out in September! :-)

I agree! Also, it is very easy to learn Kotlin once you know Java. I am going back through the Android tracks and making all the projects with Kotlin. It is a lot of fun and a great way to learn the languages.
