Why treehouse doesn't use Facebook Connect for signups?

Just out of curiosity.

Izel, we're considering this. We have so many site improvements in the hopper right now that I'm not sure when it will happen, if we decide to do so, but we are looking at it. Can I ask what you specifically like about Facebook Connect?

I personally don't see the point. What would it do? Grab my avatar and full name? Post my profile to my Facebook wall? I'd class those features as pointless gimmicks.

I actually appreciate Treehouse not forcing Facebook connectivity. It seems like everybody and their brother is after access to my facebook wall.
