WordPress WordPress Theme Development Custom Post Type Templates in WordPress Coding Your Own Custom Post Type Templates

Why use Custom post types as plugins anyway ?

I think it might be sometimes best to integrate custom post types directly to theme.

We might be using custom post types like say Portfolio, Projects, Albums which is exclusive to the theme.

Switching your website to any other theme which doesnt have the styles for custom post types is not a great idea anyway. Am i wrong ?

I see your point, but I think for the user its better to still have the content from the custom post and it not be styled, than to have the content lost.
