Why use String[]

Isn't it easier to just use an ArrayList in order to add values to an Array?

It's coming...this is all a build up to why you would use ArrayList ;)

Many APIs return arrays of Strings, and often if you know your data is final, you can use the array literal syntax to make a nice succinct grouping of strings.
