Wordpress can run only with Wamp package.. So why we should use desktop server? I am using wordpress without destop server and it works fine..

Treehouse Moderator 91,252 PointsDesktop Server is one of the most popular tools out there for managing local WordPress Deveolopment. But you're right, you don't have to use it. It's only an option. Other courses feature MAMP or XAMPP.
I use XAMPP for local development so chances are I'll not get round to using Desktop Server but I'll be sure to check it out when the time comes :)
