Why won't my AVD work?

I have already looked at the teacher's notes on how to create the AVD but nothing is being loaded into my console so my app won't work. What am I doing wrong?

Could you look into your log cat console and see what errors are being generated just before your emulator is loaded.
Did you try starting the emulator through AVD. Go to your AVD manager. Select the emulator you created. Once selected to the right you will have an option called start click that and press ok with the default settings. See if that helps.
Ask again incase that doesn't work.

I tried to start the emulator but it still didn't work. But what do you mean by the log cat console? Sorry! I'm new to this!

its the section next to the error console and debugging, in the lower part of eclipse by default.
have u tried creating a new AVD?
