Will Treehouse offer a course in Genesis Theme Development?

There is a legitimate question component here too - not just a future content request (but it's mostly just a future content request).

I have been through the Genesis course with Jesse Petersen and the WordPress theme development course with Zac Gordon.

Working with Genesis themes seems a little bit different than other themes. Hence my curiosity about whether they will do a course on building Genesis themes specifically.

Any resources, tips, thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

The question has come up before :)

The answer is yes, but first he's working on a course called Modern WordPress Workflow since using things like Sass, git, and other workflow tools along with WordPress is part of the Genesis theme development process we have to cover those first.

So if you haven't taken our SASS or git courses yet, you'll want to :)

This is perfect! Will Jesse Petersen be covering the future Genesis courses? I think there is a large gap for tutorials and courses in helping people create 'Child Theme's' focusing on the advanced stages of the development process (i.e creating custom page templates, adding functions, etc.).

I'm looking forward to it and will also add the SASS and git courses to my schedule! :D
