Window pop up overlay

How do I create a page that when click on, it will open up by overlaying the website.

I want to have my contact page in my website to open up as an overlay instead of taking my user off their current page.

If you aren't wanting to create your own modal, I've used Eric Martin's jQuery plugin once or twice. http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/. But like michaelwiss said above, there are so many options when it comes to modals. They aren't that difficult to build on your own either. I think what you're looking for is called a modal window. Do a google search and you'll find some tutorials or use a framework that includes the feature in it's js.
