With the Pen tool selected, hit the key and you will see the Add Anchor Point tool selected.

i don't know what to do

Hi Joshua,

With the pen tool selected, try typing the letter "p". It should switch back to the regular tool, indicated by the little star next to it. You can quickly switch between regular pen tool, adding, and subtracting points with "p", "+", and "-" respectively (though you don't need to hold down shift).
