Without adding an IDs, tag or the onclick attribute, how do I use JavaScript to download an image when clicked?

I want to make a chrome extension where you can click on any image in the web, and it will download it. So I can't use getElementById because it needs to work on any website and not just the ones that I add element IDs to. If someone could help me to make this it would be very appreciated, Thanks in advance!
