Kristopher, Your profile looks rich in design. Would you say that the things learned in design with treehouse translate over to open source softaware like GIMP or whatever?

Hey John, I don't know much about GIMP but I do think the design principles that are taught here can be applied everywhere. That being said, since the design videos do focus on tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch I can't say how much that will help with learning how to use GIMP. I think this is a great topic of discussion though! So maybe open up a new discussion in the forum so that you can hear what other students have to say! Hopefully someone more familiar with GIMP can give better insights.
