Woocommerce questions about subscriptions

This may not be the place for it, but I asked on the WooCommerce website and didn't get a response. I'm interested in using Woocommerce, but it looks like I have to pay for a subscription to use certain plugins, which is fine. However, my question is this, do I need to renew my subscription to use it every year or do I just need to renew the subscription to received support and updates?

If it's just to receive support and updates, how important is it that I receive plugin updates every year? Can I do without it?

Hello!

WooCommerce itself is free of use. The plugins made by WooThemes require a subscription just for updates and support. While this is not necessary, I would highly suggest it to keep a high security avoid any kinds of problems concerning malfunction after WooCommerce updates.

Thanks for the response Angelo! Is there another solution that wouldn't require me to pay annual fees? Perhaps the only solution is to build a website from scratch, but do you know any others?
