You do not need any HTML or CSS experience to learn wordpress. Knowing HTML and CSS will allow you to customize your theme if you need to. I would recommend learning all of them but you do not need to learn HTML or CSS at all.

It is not necessary to know HTML and CSS to USE WordPress, but it certainly would be helpful to know if you plan to start getting into wordpress theme development. You will need to know PHP if you plan on getting into wordpress plugin development.

If you want to get to know wordpress some more but are not ready to start a theme from scratch, after you take the wordpress introduction courses on Treehouse I would start by modifying one of the pre-made wordpress themes like twentytwelve or twentythirteen for your own purposes. This will get you familiar with how wordpress themes work, and you can put your HTML and CSS knowledge to use.
