I was reading an article today in an internet magazine on how anyone can create ultra repsonsive and professional looking website using content management systems such as wordpress. CMS's allowing the user to create plugins and widgets at a click of a button.
I have ambitions to develop a career as a web developer and am going back to college to study software development soon. However my concern is that with this relatively ease to create professional websites, what is going to be the need to for web developers and designers in the future????

Courses Plus Student 11,243 PointsWell, you can focus on developing wordpress themes/plugins. If someone wants a website, like a generic blog/portfolio website 9/10 I use wordpress and develop a theme myself. It doesn't kill developers it practically helps them.

Courses Plus Student 7,823 PointsThe wordpress themes and plugins do not come up by themselves, they need to made by a good developer. A really professional site's demand cannot be met by a theme, it needs to be a custom design to meet the clients need. So do not worry, keep learning stuff :)
