I am trying to manually download wordpress using bluehost but when I click install, it asks which domain to install to, but it doesnt have my domain address listed. its this long series of numbers and my username, whereas on the example, it showed their domain address.
is this the only way to install wordpress?

Then upload everything in the directory, contain wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes and loads of files like .htaccess and wp-config.php. Upload it to your htdocs, www, http...whatever your site root directory is on your web hosting.

10,106 PointsAre you talking about the one-click install with WordPress for Bluehost? If your domain doesn't show up then I would ask Bluehost about it.
Otherwise, you can go to http://wordpress.org/download/ and the steps are here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Famous_5-Minute_Install
